Overview
The Supervisor of Patient Access oversees daily registration functions within the scope of Patient Access. They ensure appropriate staffing, promote a positive patient experience, and demonstrate strong communication and customer service skills when interacting with staff, patients, families, and leadership. The supervisor supervises efficient and compliant registration processes, ensuring adherence to regulatory and departmental protocols. They prioritize responsibilities, resolve departmental and patient issues, and monitor key performance metrics to meet goals.
Additional Responsibilities
Education: Associate's degree in healthcare or business administration required, or at least 5 years of relevant healthcare experience. Bachelor's degree and HFMA certifications preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of patient registration and 3 years of supervisory experience in healthcare settings. Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office, and familiarity with EHR systems like EPIC or Cerner. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Knowledge of insurance coverage, benefits, authorizations, and coverage requirements. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
