Overview
The Supervisor of Patient Access oversees daily registration functions within the scope of Patient Access. Ensures appropriate staffing, promotes a positive patient experience, and demonstrates strong communication and customer service skills when interacting with staff, patients, families, and leadership. Supervises registration processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and departmental protocols. Prioritizes responsibilities, resolves departmental and patient issues, and monitors key performance metrics to meet goals.
Additional Responsibilities
Education: Associate's degree in healthcare or business administration required; or minimum 5 years relevant healthcare experience. Bachelor's degree and HFMA certifications preferred.
Experience: At least 2 years of patient registration experience and 3 years of supervisory experience in healthcare settings. Proficient in computer skills, Microsoft Office, and familiar with EHR systems like EPIC or Cerner.
Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, decision-making, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of insurance coverage, authorizations, and coverage requirements. Strong quality assurance and critical thinking skills.
