Job summary

Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters is seeking a Patient Access Supervisor to oversee the patient access/registration staff during a shift. You will ensure accurate processing of documentation for billing and maintain patient accounts in accordance with policy.

You will also rectify deviations and work with patients, payers, and hospital departments to support account integrity. The ideal candidate possesses strong interpersonal and supervisory skills, with experience in health care

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Associate degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of progressive health care setting experience with one year supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/CPT coding and third party payer insurance verification processes required.
  • Must possess the ability to identify problems and implement solutions for operational and organizational issues.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary in order to direct and assign work to subordinates, explain hospital and department policies and procedures and communicate effectively with other professionals.

Job description

The Patient Access Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and directing the actions of staff involved in the patient access / registration functions during a particular work shift. Performs specific assigned tasks and ensures the quality and quantity of work performance is consistent with policy and standard. The supervisor is proficient in the technical and professional skills of the supervised job functions and engages in staff job duties as part of the assigned work duties. Reports to department leadership.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Professional knowledge of areas of responsibility in order to assist in the planning and implementation of department activities.
