Job summary

Legacy Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative to greet and register patients, collect demographics, verify insurance, and explain financial responsibilities. The role supports both patients and families through the healthcare journey and ensures compliant documentation and records are obtained.

Ideal candidates will have strong communication, problem-solving abilities, and experience in health records or customer service.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years college education including Health Records coursework preferred.
  • Healthcare experience or clerical support experience required.
  • Six months customer service experience required.
  • Understanding of health plan and benefit structures preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting, registering, checking in, and admitting patients according to scope and service line.
  • Collecting patient demographics and documenting decision-makers.
  • Verifying insurance coverage and determining patient financial responsibilities.
  • Guiding patients on insurance coverage and financial aid options.
  • Collecting copayments, coinsurances, deposits, and payments as appropriate.
  • Collaborating with Revenue Cycle departments to ensure accurate records.
  • Submitting required legal documentation for state and federal compliance.
