Job summary

SGMC Health is seeking an organized Patient Access Services professional to schedule inpatient and outpatient procedures and register patients. The role requires knowledge of insurance verification, HIPAA compliance, and medical terminology, with emphasis on accuracy and customer service.

Ideal candidates will have experience with PayNav, CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10, and strong data entry skills, while ensuring productivity and quality targets are met in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of insurance/managed care including Medicare and Medicaid.
• Strong verbal communication skills and customer service orientation.
• Familiarity with medical terminology; CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 knowledge.
• Typing 40 wpm or faster.

Responsibilities

• Schedule inpatient and outpatient procedures; register patients.
• Verify insurance benefits and enter demographics and financial data accurately.
• Coordinate referrals and duties with Customer Service and other departments.
• Handle PayNav functionalities and cost estimates where needed.
• Maintain accuracy and meet productivity and accuracy targets.
