Job summary

Northwell Health’s Sharon Hospital is seeking a Patient Access representative responsible for greeting patients, checking them in, and guiding them through scheduling and registration processes. You will verify insurance, collect patient liabilities, and provide cost estimates for services while ensuring HIPAA and organizational policies are followed.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma with minimum 2 years related experience.
• Associate degree preferred.
• NAHAM certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and check in promptly and professionally.
• Respond to calls and provide information per standards.
• Search and identify patient in EMPI and ensure accurate ID.
• Schedule appointments following protocols and EMR systems.
• Enter demographic/financial information for registration and billing.
• Verify insurance eligibility and collect payor information.
• Provide service cost estimates and discuss patient liability.
• Process testing orders and ensure proper documentation.
