Responsibilities

  • Greets and registers patients in the registration areas.
  • Answers telephone calls, schedules appointments, and files medical charts.
  • Obtains accurate demographic, insurance, and physician information on registrations.
  • Screens patient data to verify insurance eligibility and communicates differences.
  • Ensures pre-certification and physician referral requirements are met; guides customers on requirements.
  • Identifies self-pay patients and refers them to financial assistance as appropriate.
  • Maintains open communication with all Patient Access and clinical staff; supports shadowing of new employees.
