Job summary

Garnet Health seeks a Patient Access Liaison to support our Middletown campus in coordinating patient registrations, scheduling, and benefit explanations. You will gather required information for reimbursement, communicate with departments, and help patients understand their financial responsibilities.

This on-site position emphasizes accurate data entry, effective communication with patients and departments, and adherence to regulatory and billing requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with courses in Medical/Healthcare studies or typing proficiency.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a hospital revenue cycle, medical office/clinic, or insurance company.
• Experience in a field with diversified public contact and communication; PC experience and medical terminology required.
• ICD-10 coding and CPT-4 coding preferred.
• Medical Terminology certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets and interviews patients or families to obtain demographic and financial information for reimbursement.
• Schedule procedures/visits for departments and obtain information for records, billing and payer needs.
• Explain patient coverage and financial obligations to ensure arrival prepared.
• Manage work queues and communications with multiple departments and outside offices.
• Notify Financial Advocates of self-pay or uninsured patients.
• Record information into computer and pre-register patients for appointments.
• Enter orders for ancillary services.
