Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Access Specialist in New Jersey to manage inpatient and outpatient access functions. You will perform registration, insurance verification, and financial clearance while ensuring a positive patient experience.

The role requires strong communication, basic medical terminology knowledge, and familiarity with EPIC Cadence/Prelude workflows, with preference for hospital experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Customer service oriented with good interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and EPIC software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quality interviews with patients to verify demographics and identity.
• Handle inpatient and outpatient patient access tasks, including scheduling and registration.
• Verify insurance, pre-certification, and financial clearance under supervision.
• Collect payments and maintain patient experience standards.
