Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Patient Registration Clerk to provide customer-service and registration/switchboard support. This role ensures accurate patient demographics, insurance verification, and timely data entry while helping maintain hospital financial solvency.

Under supervision, you will perform registration, insurance verification and life-safety alarm coverage, with duties expanding to onboarding and quality initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree or higher preferred.
• 1–3 years of customer service, administrative and/or data entry experience.
• 1–2 years of hospital-related field experience; familiarity with EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and families to collect demographic, financial and medical information.
• Verify insurance coverage, collect patient balances and resolve registration errors.
• Operate switchboard, route calls, and provide directions to patients and visitors.
• Deliver excellent customer service, manage waiting areas, and report safety hazards.
• Participate in training, onboarding, and quality-improvement initiatives.
