Job summary

St. Rose Hospital is seeking a Part-Time Registrar I for the PM shift (Mon, Wed, every other weekend; 1500-2330). You will interview patients, collect information for records and billing, verify insurance coverage, and guide patients through registration and payments.

The role requires high school graduation or equivalent, with 1 year of hospital registration experience preferred. Bilingual Spanish or Tagalog skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• One-year hospital registration or relevant experience.
• Knowledge of medical insurances (Medicare, Medi-Cal, HMOs, PPOs, commercial), EMTALA, and HIPAA regulations.
• Basic computer skills (word processing, e-mail, and internet).
• Bilingual in Spanish or Tagalog preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients in person or by phone to obtain necessary information for hospital records and billing systems.
• Register or pre-register patients for admission, partial hospitalization, and outpatient services according to policy.
• Obtain bed assignments and inform patients/families on wait times and bed status.
• Obtain signatures on registration forms and discuss directives, privacy, and insurance details.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary pre-certifications or authorizations.
