Job summary

Saint Peter’s Health Care System is seeking a Registration Representative for the part-time evening shift in Admissions-Registration. The role involves determining payer types, confirming coverage status, and ensuring required authorizations and precertifications are obtained, while collecting co-pays and deposits and preparing patient charts.

Qualifications

• Medical Terminology required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
• ICD coding experience.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Knowledge of third party payer, federal and state regulations desired.

Responsibilities

• Identify primary and secondary payers.
• Determine if services are in or out of network and alerts patients to cost differentials.
• Identify and meet third-party payer requirements of immediate admission notification, precertification, referral or authorization inclusive of party payer requirements of immediate admission notification, precertification, referral or authorization.
• Collect payment in full inclusive of co-payment and deposits.
• Prepare patient's chart.
• Communicate patient rights and responsibilities.
