Job summary

ECU Health's Outer Banks Hospital seeks a patient access representative responsible for patient registration and benefits counseling in a full-time role. You will interpret insurance benefits, communicate clearly with patients, and maintain medical terminology knowledge and payer regulations; you will also handle patient and customer relations and support various duties as assigned.

Work schedule is four days a week from 7:45 AM to 5:15 PM in a clinical setting on the Outer Banks, NC; strong

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent (GED) or higher is required.
• Associate Degree: preferred
• Bachelor's Degree: preferred
• 2 years Customer Service is required
• 1 to 2 years of Registration and/or Billing experience within a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Excellent communication (both written and oral), detail orientation, organization, and multitasking skills required.
• Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

• Performs patient registration.
• Provides insurance benefits interpretation and counseling.
• Maintains medical terminology skills and knowledge of third party payer regulations.
• Performs patient and customer relations.
• Completes other duties as assigned.
