Job summary

Saint Francis Healthcare System is seeking a Registration Specialist to manage check-in, preregistration, registration, preadmission and admission activities. You will collect demographics, verify insurance, secure consent forms, and ensure HIPAA compliance while supporting efficient patient flow and accurate revenue cycle processes.

The role requires strong computer skills, attention to detail, and professional communication with patients and staff in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a business, billing, or healthcare scheduling/registration/admissions setting preferred.
• Ability to proficiently utilize a computer and software programs is essential.
• Must maintain a professional and courteous manners in dealing with customers and staff in all manners of communication.

Responsibilities

• Obtain photo ID, insurance cards, signed forms and orders and scan into medical record at check-in.
• Maintain system work queues and handle registration/admission tasks.
• Answer phones, fax, scan, DPM’s, and duties assigned by the manager.
• Cross-train with System Scheduling, Authorization, & Referrals to assist as needed.
• Work with staff to ensure a smooth, timely flow of patients and information to maximize reimbursement.
• Adhere to the Mission, Vision, Values and Philosophy of Saint Francis Healthcare System.
• Handle confidential information per policy.
