Twin County Regional Healthcare in Virginia (Galax) is seeking a Patient Access Representative to join our onsite team. In this role you verify insurance benefits, collect deposits and co-pays, and educate patients on rights and directives while delivering courteous, accurate service.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma (associate’s preferred), computer proficiency, and experience with billing or collections; strong customer service and telephone skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• Computer proficiency required.
• Medical terminology experience preferred.
• Billing and/or collection experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service and telephone skills are a must.

Responsibilities

• Verifies insurance benefits, eligibility, and obtains authorizations when necessary.
• Collects deposits, co-pays, and deductibles.
• Educates patients and families regarding patient rights, advanced directives, and distributes patient guides.
• Communicates professionally in-person and by phone; provides clear instructions and excellent customer service.
