Job summary

Wayne HealthCare in Greenville, OH is seeking a part-time Patient Access Clerk for a third shift. The role requires 16 hours per week with every other weekend and holiday rotation, reporting to the Director of Patient Access.

You will greet patients, assist with insurance benefits, and input data into hospital systems while maintaining a professional appearance and supporting cross-department activities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in medical office assistant or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of common office machines.
• Strong computer and software knowledge required.
• Prior hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assign patients to hospital rooms and interview them before admission.
• Explain hospital policies regarding deposits, parking, personal items, and visitation.
• Assist patients in understanding their insurance benefits when available.
• Input patient information into computer systems accurately and on time.
• Greet patients professionally at all times.
• Assist others in the department as needed.
• Ensure all tasks are completed on time and accurately.
• Relieve cashier and telecommunications operator as needed.
• Follow all written and verbal instructions.
• Provide strong communication within the department and with other areas of the facility.
• Present a professional appearance at all times.
