Job summary

The Patient Access Specialist at UVMMC - Medical Center, Main Campus, is a fundamental part of the patient experience, coordinating scheduling, registration, insurance and payer eligibility management to provide an exceptional customer service experience for patients, families and visitors.

This 100% onsite role at our Main Campus in Burlington, VT, is scheduled to work Monday through Friday, 1:00PM-5:00PM, with a 20-hour work week in the Registration ACC department.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or vocational training in a relevant area.
• Minimum of one year of customer service, medical billing, coding, insurance or scheduling experience.
• Must be able to diffuse angry customers and communicate clearly.
• This is a bargaining union position.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate scheduling, registration, insurance and payer eligibility management.
• Perform financial screening to support a positive patient experience.
• Navigate regulatory requirements across multiple information systems.
• Support revenue cycle while delivering caring service.
