Job summary

61st Street Service Corporation is seeking a Patient Access Specialist II to join our call center supporting ColumbiaDoctors. The role handles high volumes of patient inquiries to schedule diagnostic services, physician referrals, and answer department questions.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma, 3+ years in scheduling or call center work, proficient MS Office, and excellent customer service. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Hourly rate: $27.42–$33.81.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• 3+ years in scheduling; call center experience a must.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word & Excel; EPIC knowledge a plus.
• Medical terminology proficiency required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointment requests and outbound calls for Epic referrals.
• Explain insurance, financial responsibility, and time-of-service policy.
• Collect insurance and demographics in EPIC.
• Perform real-time insurance verification.
• Gather pre-registration information to address EPIC queues.
• Provide support and back-up coverage as needed.
• Handle general faxing, filing, and mail sorting.
• Lead discussions on complex scheduling needs.
• Escalate issues to supervisor for resolution.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
