Responsibilities

• Schedules patient appointments and enters information in the computer system accurately and timely.
• Obtains demographic, insurance and financial information from patient or guarantor.
• Explains required forms to the patient or guarantor and obtains signatures.
• Ensures medical necessity compliance by collecting data and coordinating with the patient or guarantor.
• Collects patient liability and discusses payment options with patients.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits and completes notifications/authorizations within timeframes.
• Posts payments and generates receipts.
• Supports department efficiency and documentation.
• Communicates professionally with physicians, staff, insurance companies and patients.
• Adheres to Memorial Hermann policies, budget, time and supply management.
• Promotes professional growth and assists as needed.
