Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a detail‑oriented team member to schedule patient appointments, verify eligibility, and post payments. The role supports accurate data entry, financial clearance, and compliant patient interactions.

Ideal candidate has a high school diploma and at least two years in a hospital or customer service setting, with strong typing skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Two years of experience in a hospital or customer service setting.
• Proficient typing/keyboard skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patient appointments and enters information in the computer system accurately.
• Obtains demographic, insurance and financial information from patient or guarantor; enters it into the system.
• Explains all required forms to the patient or guarantor and obtains signatures.
• Ensures medical necessity compliance by obtaining necessary data and communicating with patients.
• Protects facility financial integrity by collecting patient liability and discussing payment options.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits and completes required notifications.
• Posts payments in the system and generates patient receipts.
• Monitors and resolves patient account issues on assigned reports.
• Communicates professionally with physicians, departments, staff, insurance companies, patients and families.
• Adheres to policies, procedures and standards within budget and time management.
• Supports department goals; acts as mentor or resource to staff.
• Demonstrates compassionate, personalized service to every patient.
• Other duties as assigned.
