Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• License/Certification: (None)
• Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Two (2) years of experience in a hospital or customer service setting; ability to multi-task; proficient typing/keyboarding skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patient appointments and enters information in the computer system accurately and timely.
• Obtains demographic, insurance and financial information from patient or guarantor.
• Enters information in the system with a high degree of accuracy.
• Explains required forms to patient or guarantor and obtains signatures.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits; ensures notifications and authorizations are completed within timeframes.
• Posts payments in the system and generates patient receipts.
• Monitors and resolves patient account issues on assigned reports.
• Communicates professionally with physicians, departments, staff, insurance companies, patients and families.
