Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking an Access Services Representative 2 to support patient registration and financial clearance across areas. You will collect demographics, verify benefits, and coordinate with teams to ensure smooth patient flow and accuracy in billing.

Qualifications

• 2 years of healthcare or customer service experience or education equivalency required.
• Must exhibit high empathy and communicate well with patients and families during trauma.
• Ability to manage multiple, changing priorities in an organized manner.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients by collecting demographics and insurance information for registration, insurance verification, precertification, and billing.
• Verifies patient eligibility for insurance coverage and determines patient financial responsibilities.
• Cross-trains and works in all assigned areas; mentors or trains peers as needed.
• Interacts with other departments to provide information on patient delays and schedule changes.
• Establishes patient liability and informs patients of deposit requirements; negotiates payment arrangements when needed.
• May perform cashiering duties following established policies.
• Assists patients to nursing units with directions or mobility assistance as required.
• Ensures compliance with order validation, cash policy, government payors, and patient identification requirements.
