Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Less than 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Conducts and documents patient interviews to obtain demographic and financial data for registration, insurance verification, precertification and billing.
• Registers patients at multiple locations and works in different department areas; identifies process improvement opportunities to promote team concepts.
• Interacts with other areas to provide information on patient delays and schedule changes.
• Verifies patient eligibility for insurance coverage and benefit levels; calculates and collects patient dues per policy and negotiates payment arrangements.
• May perform cashiering duties following established policies and procedures; assist patients to nursing units with directions and mobility aid.
