Job summary

Millennium Physician Group is seeking a Patient Care Specialist I for our Cape Coral, FL clinic. You will handle patient check-ins, verify insurance, collect copays, and coordinate referrals while ensuring HIPAA compliance and accurate documentation in our EHR system.

In a fast-paced, frontline role, you’ll greet patients, schedule appointments, resolve basic billing questions, and support the care team with clerical tasks.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of clerical, customer service, or healthcare office experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of EHR systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Greets, registers, and checks in patients with accurate demographics in the EHR.
• Collects copayments per procedures.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and authorizations.
• Schedules appointments and manages daily calendars.
• Processes referrals and medical records requests.
• Maintains HIPAA compliance and patient privacy.
• Performs clerical tasks like filing, scanning, uploading documents.
• Collaborates with billing to resolve discrepancies.
