UTHealth Houston's UT Physicians Multispecialty clinic in Bellaire, TX seeks a full-time Patient Access Representative to verify eligibility, ensure medical-necessity compliance, and post payments. The role supports clinic operations and patient care while following a Monday–Friday schedule 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with occasional rotating Saturday shifts 8 a.m.

Qualifications

• Obtains demographic, insurance and financial information from patient or guarantor.
• Enters information in computer system with a high degree of accuracy.
• Explains forms to patients and obtains signatures.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits.
• Posts payments and generates receipts.

Responsibilities

• Obtains demographic, insurance and financial information from patient or guarantor.
• Enters information in computer system with a high degree of accuracy.
• May schedule patient appointments and enter required information in the computer system.
• Explains all required forms to the patient or guarantor and obtains signatures.
• Ensures medical necessity compliance by obtaining data, reviewing systems, and obtaining signatures.
• Collects patient liability, sets up payment arrangements, and discusses payment options.
• Performs financial counseling including charity applications when needed.
• Identifies resources for financial reimbursement.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits and completes notifications and authorizations within timeframes.
• Communicates professionally with physicians, staff, insurance companies, patients and families.
• Maintains thorough documentation and adheres to policies and standards.
