Job summary

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Patient Access Representative to ensure accurate, efficient, and courteous access for new patients. You will verify insurance, obtain authorizations, schedule and register patients, and educate patients about financial responsibilities in a high-volume environment.

The role requires EPIC/EHR experience and strong communication. This is a hybrid position with onsite training and possible additional onsite support to meet operations.

Qualifications

• Four years experience in healthcare, insurance, or related field.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Preferred: Associate's Degree.
• CHAA certification preferred: Cert Healthcare Access Assoc Upon Hire.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and register new patients with accurate information.
• Verify insurance and secure necessary authorizations.
• Advise patients about financial responsibilities and cost estimates.
• Communicate with referral sources and patients in a courteous, professional manner.
• Support department-wide improvement efforts and mentor Associate-level staff when needed.
