Job summary

Spire Orthopedic Partners is seeking a Front Desk Specialist for our Lowell, MA clinic. You will greet patients, verify insurance and demographics, and help coordinate visits with clinicians.

This role requires a high school diploma, one year of medical office experience, HIPAA knowledge, and strong communication with multitasking skills. EMR proficiency with Athena/Centricity or Medi-Tech is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• One-year medical office experience.
• HIPAA knowledge and regulatory policies.
• Knowledge of insurance regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Knowledge of medical office procedures and terminology.
• Telephone protocol and professional etiquette; strong communication skills.
• Extensive customer service experience.
• Proficient with Windows-based software.
• Ability to represent the organization professionally.

Responsibilities

• Answering and triaging incoming calls.
• Check in patients for appointments and verify insurance.
• Covering charts and reviewing test results.
• Verify insurance eligibility.
• Collect copayments and outstanding balances.
• Ensure test results and notes are available for appointments.
• Escort patients to exam rooms.
• Cover co-workers’ vacation/sick/personal time.
• Perform closing tasks in the office every other week.
• Other duties as assigned by managers.
