Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a SWKC Patient Service Representative - Gardner to welcome patients in outpatient registration areas and serve as the first point of contact with excellent customer service.

Your tasks include verifying patient demographics and insurance information, scheduling and adjusting appointments, collecting co-pays, and liaising with care teams to ensure accurate EMR data and a smooth patient experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous related experience preferred.
• Healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers in prompt, courteous, and helpful manner.
• Verifies patient information and collects insurance details; updates EMR.
• Schedules appointments, confirms, and reschedules as needed.
• Answers phone, triages information, and routes calls to the proper staff.
• Collects patient co-pays and balances; processes daily receipts.
• Acts as liaison between patient and medical staff; coordinates referrals.
• Checks out patients with visit details and schedules follow-up appointments.
• Maintains a clean, organized front desk and waiting area.
• Enters patient data into the EMR accurately; supports team initiatives.
