Geisinger Primary Care Mount Pocono is seeking a front line office assistant to provide patient registration and scheduling support. You will greet patients, handle check-in/out processes, verify demographics, and assist with insurance and billing-related tasks in a busy outpatient setting.

The role involves coordinating appointments, handling multi-channel communications, and ensuring HIPAA compliance while maintaining patient confidentiality and efficient office operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED – Required.
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience – Preferred.
• Certification(s) and License(s): None required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register incoming patients and support check-out process.
• Schedule future appointments and coordinate front line office activities.
• Verify demographics and check-in procedures; monitor patient wait times.
• Read and interpret insurance responses; assign primary, secondary, and tertiary insurance per encounter.
• Communicate financial obligations and collect fees at time of service.
• Complete regulatory forms and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and referrals as needed.
• Handle multi-channel messages regarding appointments, referrals, prescriptions, and complaints.
