Job summary

CommonSpirit Health seeks a Patient Access Representative to perform patient registration and admitting across hospital access points, including ER and main registration. You will verify demographics, insurance eligibility, and collect payments as appropriate to support timely access to care.

You will also scan and index documents, schedule appointments, handle patient inquiries by phone, and ensure privacy and compliance with policies and regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required at hire.
• 1 year healthcare experience in patient access preferred.
• Knowledge of health insurance payers and real-time eligibility verifications.
• Ability to communicate clearly and provide patient-focused service.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient registration across access points with accurate demographics and insurance verification.
• Scan, index, and manage patient documents to support workflows.
• Communicate financial responsibilities and collect payments when appropriate.
• Schedule, confirm, and revise patient appointments to support care access.
• Identify and resolve routine discrepancies in registration and insurance.
• Provide patient-facing support via phone and other channels and document interactions.
