Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Detroit is seeking a Patient Access Registrar to ensure a smooth registration/admission process using EMR systems.

You will greet patients, collect demographics and financial information, estimate copays, and guide patients through the process while maintaining professionalism.

Preferred knowledge of Cerner/EPIC and EMR tools; 1 year healthcare or customer service experience; full-time schedule 8am-4:30pm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of customer service or health care experience.

Responsibilities

• Register patients in EMR and document demographics and financial data.
• Greet customers with a warm, friendly reception.
• Collect and scan required demographic and financial information.
• Direct patients to the appropriate setting and explain delays.
• Maintain professionalism per department standards.
• Estimate and collect copays and other obligations.
• Comply with hospital policies and Meaningful Use requirements.
• Use electronic registration tools when available.
• Perform duties as assigned by Management.
