Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan seeks a Patient Access Registrar to ensure smooth registration/admission. Under the Front Line leadership, you will register patients in the EMR, collect demographics and financial information, and explain the process to patients with a courteous, accurate approach.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, scanning documents, collecting copays, and ensuring compliance with Meaningful Use. Experience with Cerner/EPIC and tablets is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 year of experience in customer service or health care.
• Working knowledge of Windows, Excel, Word and Outlook preferred.
• Experience with EMR systems (Cerner/EPIC) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Register patients in EMR and document demographic/financial data accurately.
• greet customers promptly and maintain professional conduct.
• Collect and document required demographic and financial information.
• Direct patients to appropriate settings and explain processes.
• Collect copays, deductibles, and other obligations.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and Meaningful Use requirements.
• Facilitate use of electronic registration tools (tablets, Wacom).
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
