Job summary

University Hospitals is seeking a Patient Access Representative to welcome patients, verify demographics and insurance, and guide them through the registration process. You will handle check-in/out, scheduling, and payments, while using MyChart and EPIC to ensure accurate data entry and smooth workflows.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year of customer service, preferably in healthcare, with strong communication, organizational skills, and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of Customer Service, preferably in healthcare.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients and providers.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
• Understanding of confidentiality and sensitive information handling.
• Knowledge of electronic health records and basic medical terminology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and check them in/out for visits.
• Answer phone calls and assist with questions, scheduling, and next steps in care.
• Assist patients with enrolling in and using MyChart.
• Enter and verify patient demographics, insurance, and financial information.
• Coordinate with physicians and care teams to support coordinated care.
• Collect and process patient payments (copays, deductibles, balances).
• Work in EPIC with queues and in-basket messaging; scan documents.
• Schedule referrals and follow-up appointments.
• Assist patients with required forms and paperwork.
