Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in New Hampton, IA is seeking a dedicated full-time Patient Access representative to handle outpatient and inpatient registration, insurance verification, and patient financial counseling at the point of check-in. You will interview patients and guarantors, prepare estimates, collect co-pays and other liabilities, and document transactions in the registration system.

Strong communication, accuracy, and time-management are essential, with HFMA/NAHAM credentials

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA within 12 months.
• 1 year of customer service experience; patient access preferred.
• Excellent communication and data-entry accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Validate and enter demographic, clinical, financial, and insurance data.
• Prepare patient estimates and collect liabilities at check-in.
• Obtain signed physician orders and prepare IDs (bracelets, labels).
• Assist with securing patient valuables and related sign-offs when needed.
