Job summary

Singing River Health System in Gulfport, MS is seeking a Patient Access Services Registration Specialist to be the first point of contact for patients and visitors. You will interview patients to collect demographic, financial, and insurance information required for billing and pre-certification, while delivering a welcoming, accurate experience.

You will help ensure privacy, verify coverage, and support de-escalation with high-quality customer service, reporting to the Patient Access Manager

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
• Certified CHAA or CRCR preferred.
• Must have de-escalation training completed by the end of orientation (90 days).
• Experience in hospital or physician office registration, scheduling, insurance verification, or customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients or their representatives to obtain demographic, financial, and insurance information for billing.
• Verify insurance and pre-certification requirements.
• Minimize medical risk and ensure patient identification and privacy practices.
• Maintain accuracy in registrations and related tasks for revenue cycle.
• Comply with privacy policies and de-escalation standards.
