Job summary

St. Luke’s Health System in Boise seeks a Patient Access Specialist to warmly greet patients, register them, schedule appointments, and coordinate referrals.

You will communicate clearly with patients and caregivers to ensure smooth check-in and efficient workflow. You will discuss insurance options, explain coverage and financial responsibilities, obtain necessary authorizations and verifications, and utilize hospital systems to support daily operations.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience, preferably front-desk in healthcare.
• Clear verbal and written communication with patients and caregivers.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and use hospital systems.

At St. Luke’s, our dedicated team of Patient Access Specialists strive to build a positive, supportive, and inclusive culture that delivers exceptional patient experiences. This customer service position is often the first person a patient encounters when entering the St. Luke’s Boise Hospital. This important role supports exceptional interactions to ensure professional, timely and accurate written and verbal communication with both patients and caregivers (both in person and by phone).

Shift details: Monday through Friday 5:00am-1:30pm

What you can expect from this role:

• Registration, scheduling, and referral coordination for patients
• Discussions on financial options and/or explanations of insurance coverage, including authorizations, verifications, and estimates
• Use a variety of technologies, tools and resources to support departmental workflows
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications for this Role:

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
