Job summary

Advocate Health in Cartersville, GA is seeking a Patient Services Representative I to handle patient registration, verify demographics and insurance, and collect estimated liabilities.

You will coordinate with Financial Counselors, perform pre-certifications, and maintain confidentiality while delivering courteous service in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires basic math, proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, and ADT systems, and the ability to work Monday–Friday 7:00 am–4:00 pm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; patient access experience preferred.
• Proficient in medical terminology and HIPAA compliance.
• Familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid and pre-certification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and verify demographics and insurance information.
• Complete registration for walk-in patients and obtain necessary payments.
• Explain estimated financial responsibilities and collect balances.
• Coordinate with Financial Counselor for patients needing assistance.
• Perform visit closures, schedule follow-ups, and provide documentation to patients.
• Maintain knowledge of payer requirements and pre-authorization policies.
• Communicate issues to management and meet productivity targets.
• Provide courteous patient service and accurate information.
