Job summary

SCA Health in New Jersey is seeking a Patient Services Representative to serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, delivering exceptional service from check-in to check-out.

The role requires 4–5 years of relevant experience, proficiency with EHR systems, and strong communication skills. Eligibility for bilingual candidates is a plus; benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401k, and PTO. This on-site position supports a patient-centered care model.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or medical office training preferred.
• 4–5 years of relevant work experience in a medical office setting.
• Proficiency with EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth) and MS Office.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to multitask in a team environment.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors warmly, maintaining a welcoming, professional environment.
• Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using EHR systems.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain authorizations or referrals.
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances.
• Maintain accurate patient records and update demographic information.
• Answer calls, respond to inquiries, and route messages appropriately.
• Assist with patient check-in and check-out procedures.
• Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure timely patient flow.
• Handle medical records requests in compliance with HIPAA.
• Support scanning, faxing, and filing as needed.
