Job summary

Bergen New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus, NJ, is seeking a Pre Service Representative to support patient access. You will ensure accurate scheduling, collect demographic/insurance data, verify authorizations, and preregister patients to streamline services and billing.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in customer service, strong communication, and proficient computer skills; bilingual Spanish is a plus. The role is on-site with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ work experience in customer service or related field.
• Proficient knowledge of medical terminology, billing practices and coding.
• Proficient computer skills and MS Office proficiency.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Input patient data, demographics, codes, and insurance information into the scheduling system.
• Schedule and book appointments and preregister patients.
• Obtain pertinent patient, procedure and physician information.
• Verify and obtain prior authorizations when needed.
• Collect deposits and payments; follow up on requests promptly.
• Refer self-pay patients to financial assistance and obtain financial clearance.
• Promote hospital mission, greet patients, and support departmental objectives.
