Job summary

You will interact with patients and families, collect demographic and insurance information, explain forms and obtain signatures, and ensure timely processing within compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• License/Certification: (None).
• Two (2) years of experience in a hospital or customer service setting.
• Ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patient appointments and enters information in the computer system accurately.
• Obtains demographic, insurance and financial information from patient or guarantor.
• Explains forms to patient or guarantor and obtains signatures.
• Ensures medical necessity compliance by obtaining required data and signatures.
• Protects the financial integrity by collecting patient liability, establishing payment arrangements and screening for eligibility.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits and ensures notifications/authorizations are completed on time.
• Posts payments and generates patient receipts.
• Monitors, reviews and resolves patient account issues on assigned reports.
• Communicates professionally with physicians, staff, insurance companies, patients and families; completes documentation.
• Adheres to policies and safety standards; maintains budgetary specs and productivity.
• Promotes professional growth and may serve as preceptor or mentor.
