Job summary

The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation in Bethel, Alaska seeks a Medical Support Technician Unit Clerk to handle scheduling telephones and manage patient appointments. You will route calls to the correct department and support the Case Management Team with various office duties in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Minimum education is a high school diploma, with preferred experience in public-facing roles and switchboard operations. English communication is essential; Yup’ik language is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One year experience in a position that requires dealing with the public preferred.
• Previous switchboard experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Able to communicate with easy medical terms for patients.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Yup’ik speaker preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers scheduling telephones and routes calls to appropriate department in a professional manner.
• Schedules, cancels or reschedules patient appointments using Scheduling Guidelines.
• Assists the Case Management Team in various office duties as assigned.
