Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have working-level English knowledge, including reading, writing and speaking.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Six months of admitting, medical claims processing, professional office experience and/or customer service with financial interaction; one year preferred.
• Experience with Windows Operating systems and related software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and schedule appointments across admitting sites.
• Enter demographic, clinical and financial information into the computer system.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain insurance authorizations as required.
• Identify payer sources and collect patient financial obligations at point of service.
• Process charge orders and document information accurately and timely.
• Explain and obtain signatures on admission documents and forms.
• Maintain confidentiality per Joint Commission and HIPAA requirements.
