Midland Health is seeking a Central Scheduler to manage scheduling, pre-registration, and patient flow for Midland Memorial services. You will enter diagnostic orders, demographics, and insurance data into the hospital system, coordinating with physicians and technologists to support efficient care and billing.

The role requires strong communication, problem solving, and the ability to work under pressure with patients and staff. Shift is 8am–5pm, Monday through Friday, in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Course in medical terminology or hospital/physician office experience preferred.
• Strong problem solving skills
• Ability to communicate effectively orally or in writing
• Ability to work under pressure while interacting in a helpful, courteous manner with a high degree of patient contact.
• Effective at adjusting to change, prioritizing duties, handling stress and effectively communicating face-to-face or over the telephone with employees, patients and physicians

Responsabilités

• Provides scheduling functions for all assigned scheduled department procedures in the hospital setting
• Schedules procedures via the hospital information system following established protocols which promote physician satisfaction and scheduling efficiencies; coordinates STAT scheduling directly with the technologist and physician (if needed) in the affected area(s.)
• Maintains the flow of communication within central scheduling, including answering the telephone and providing information and directions for patients and other guests.
• Promotes positive interactions with co-workers, customers and guests
• Identifies the need for and obtains from the physician office all pre-certifications required by payers on all scheduled procedures.
• Solves practical problems, dealing with a variety of issues, and interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form.
