Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum two years of hospital or customer service experience.
• Strong typing and keyboarding skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patient appointments and enters required information in the computer system accurately.
• Verifies demographic, insurance and financial information from patient or guarantor and enters data in the system.
• Explains required forms to patients and obtains necessary signatures.
• Ensures medical necessity compliance by collecting data and obtaining signatures.
• Collects patient liability, discusses payment options and establishes payment arrangements.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits and completes required notifications and authorizations.
• Posts payments in the system and issues patient receipts.
• Monitors and resolves patient account issues on assigned reports.
• Communicates professionally with physicians, staff, insurers and patients; documents thoroughly.
• Adheres to Memorial Hermann policies, budget, and time/supply management standards.
