Job summary

Midland Memorial is seeking a Central Scheduler to coordinate scheduling, interview and pre-register patients for our services. You will enter diagnostic orders, demographics and insurance data into the hospital information system to support patient care and hospital billing.

The role acts as a patient liaison for test, exam or procedure questions, including insurance coverage and estimated patient liability, and performs clerical duties under the department manager, with a fixed 8am–5pm,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Course in medical terminology or hospital/physician office experience preferred.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally or in writing.
• Ability to work under pressure with high patient contact.

Responsibilities

• Schedules department procedures and coordinates patient flow in hospital settings.
• Enters diagnostic tests, demographics and insurance information into the hospital information system.
• Answers questions from patients regarding scheduling, preparations, and insurance coverage.
• Maintains communication within central scheduling and with physicians and staff.
• Performs clerical duties under the department manager.
