Qualifications

• Two years of customer service experience; healthcare setting preferred.
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and thoroughly collects, analyzes and records demographic, insurance/financial and clinical data in the computer system; ensures documentation is on file.
• Maintains knowledge of insurance verification and understanding of insurance plans.
• Answers telephone calls promptly and accurately; takes messages and directs calls professionally.
• Educates patients regarding financial obligations and provides estimates.
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives to enhance quality and customer service.
• Maintains ability to perform patient self-service registration processes.
• Monitors and maintains multiple work queues.
• Refer patients needing financial assistance to a Financial Advocate.
• Performs other duties as needed due to extenuating circumstances.
• Schedules walk-in procedures and collaborates with central scheduling.
