Job summary

Avera Flandreau Hospital is seeking a detail‑oriented receptionist and registration specialist to support patients, staff and providers. The role includes centralized scheduling for outreach services, patient registration, and insurance functions in a fast‑paced clinical setting.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, maintain confidentiality, and provide billing support as needed. PTO, retirement contributions, and career development are offered.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work the hours specified and communicate effectively; strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• 1-3 years related experience and/or training.
• 1-3 years business office experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs centralized scheduling of outreach clinics, outreach services and patient procedures and tests; explains appointment expectations and provides instructions; ensures proper credentialing and licensure for providers, vendors, and insurance carriers.
• Registers patients in a timely and accurate manner by entering demographic, insurance, physician and other defined information while following standards.
• Performs necessary accounts payable duties including receiving payments and assisting with daily cash balances and deposits.
• Assists other departments with reports and processing.
• Performs generalized secretarial duties such as front desk reception, phone reception, work processing, collate/fax/mail reports and documents; assist in correspondence.
• Serves as back-up for Billing/Receipts and other clinic and hospital business office functions; provides support to patients regarding insurance, billing questions, and estimates.
