Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Patient Access Coordinator to manage patient appointments, registration, and check-in/out processes across its internal medicine operations. You will verify demographic and insurance information within the system and handle payments and daily deposits.

The role also involves relaying messages to providers, logging communications, and providing essential clerical support to the office to ensure smooth patient flow and accurate records.

Qualifications

• Required computer skills and familiarity with office software.
• Medical terminology knowledge is preferred for accurate charting.
• Prior medical office experience is preferred to handle patient flow smoothly.
• Customer service mindset helps greet and assist patients effectively.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments and reminder calls.
• Greet, register, and check in/out patients.
• Verify demographics and insurance coverage in the system.
• Collect co-pays and payments; prepare daily deposit and reconciliation report.
• Relay messages to and from providers and log communications accurately.
• Provide clerical support: typing correspondence, sorting mail, faxing, and ordering supplies.
