Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree may substitute part of experience.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and strong PC/software skills.
• Must have math and bookkeeping abilities.
• Excellent telephone and customer-service skills; strong English grammar.

Responsibilities

• Register patients, collect co-pays, answer phones, and schedule appointments.
• Verify insurance and demographics; coordinate with Enrollment Department.
• Verify patient demographics during check-in using NextGen.
• Schedule follow-ups and tests; notify scheduler as needed.
• Collect visit fees and balances owed by patients.
• Explain financial requirements to patients and responsible parties.
• Coordinate and complete in-house referrals at checkout.
