Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3+ years in a medical office setting.
• Knowledge of insurance benefits, authorization processes and contracting.
• Ability to work independently with strong organizational and communication skills.
• ICD-9/10 and CPT coding a plus.
• Experience with Medicare, Medicaid and private-payer regulations.

Responsibilities

• Reception of patients including collecting co-pays/deductibles and verifying authorizations.
• Scheduling appointments, follow-ups, diagnostics, treatments, and coordinating with outside physicians.
• Pre-registration and registration of patients; verify demographics/insurance and collect payments.
• Act as a patient financial counselor when needed and direct to appropriate support.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.
